Nyaan/Asa is set up as the secondary MC, and then her entire character goes out the window to revolve around a love triangle with another girl (Machu/Yoru) for a guy she's barely talked to (Shuji/Denji).
The story tries to pretend that Asa/Nyaan has an important relationship with Yoru/Machu, except Asa/Nyaan is entirely defined by Denji/Shuji. Asa/Nyaan had an interesting background which had a ton of potential for great development, but all of that potential was wasted for a shit-tier romance plot because that’s obviously more important than character development

So much subtle stuff gets really lost in the translation and scenes hit much harder when you are actually comprehending it.
Think about it this way;
You hate localizators, right? You hate the shitty subs and stuff. As long as you don't know Japanese, you're basically their bitch, no other way around it.
The only way to really break free from these people is to learn Japanese. And it can be done you just need time, consistency and invesement.
Do not fall for the "you can't learn Japanese" meme.
Also it's important to find the right methods. Avoid Duolingo obviously.
If you love anime and manga, and you are like me and consume nothing but anime/manga, you really owe it to yourself anons.
Of course it's up to you, I don't want to force anyone just encourage, I really believe for a lot of people it will be worth it. Sorry if this sounds gay, I have a fever and I thought this was a good thing to do. Keep loving anime and manga /a/, i go to bed

The fight between the MC and the assassin in episode 13 had no value at all and was just a 9/11 reenactment drama designed to show off the action scenes.

Long story short: I like them, but only in a psychotic and kafkaesque type of way. I'm not saying it was good idea from KyoAni. It was a fucking disaster back in the day if you ask me. Most people absolutely LOVE the ingeniousity of Endless 8 but that's because these watchers are young zoomers who didn't watch Haruhi when it was airing. I did. I'm 35 years old and I know what it was like to wait weeks between episodes, not even knowing how many times they'd repeat the same episode. If that wasn't bad enough, there were 2 years between seasons 1 and 2. Imagine waiting 2 years to just have the loop repeating. Binging it in 2025 doesn't even get close to the experience you would of had in 2006-2008.
This summer I've watched the Endless 8 dozens of times. Me and my friend have a tradition of watching them every night in a Synchtube stream as a sort of bedtime story, so I have really had time to dig deep into the Endless 8 lore.
