>爾時西方有如意寳珠光現以無量釋迦毘楞伽寶而爲圍遶
At that time, to the west, a miraculous pearl appeared to glow, with countless heavenly treasures surrounding it.
>其珠光明蔽於一切人天八部聲聞菩薩日月星辰地水火風界所有光明皆不復現
>The pearl's light occluded all the eight-fold assembly of devas, the sravakas and Bodhisattvas, the sun, moon, and stars, and all the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, so that none of their light was any longer apparent.
>時會大衆唯覩佛光及以珠光無量無邊不可思議不可言説無復餘色唯見虚空
The great assembly saw only the light of the Buddha and the pearl's light, infinite and unbounded, incomprehensible, inexplicable, with no other forms but empty space to be seen.

>爾時如來光相照曜時會大衆各不自見亦不見他一切諸色悉滅無餘不與眼對不得自身色相形貌及於所觸無彼無此亦無中間隨所視方皆悉如是
At that time, the Tathagata's light glowed, and the great assembly could no longer see themselves, nor any other, all form of image gone without remainder, with nothing to be rendered in the eye, unable to apprehend the outward form of the self, or any point of contact, without "this" or "that," nor anything in between. Everything was like this everywhere they looked.
>亦復不見日月星宿地界水界火界風界
They could not see the sun, moon, or stars, or the elements of earth, or water, or the elements of fire or wind.
>悉皆無有與眼對者耳不聞聲鼻不嗅香諸心數法亦無所縁
All these were without referent in the eye, and nor could the ears hear sound, nor nose smell odor, and all the mind's many objects of thought also were without correspondent.
>於我我所無復起相亦無六入分別之想
In regards to "self" or "place" there arose no form, and neither was there any concept of the six distinct senses.
>不得諸大諸來大衆唯見佛光及以珠光
They grasped not any of the great figures there, nor any those gathered in the great assembly, but saw only the Buddha's light, and the light of this pearl.
>其珠純以無量釋迦毘楞伽寳而爲圍遶
The pearl was pure white, and surrounded by innumerable heavenly treasures.
